Strange question. I want to carry my Russians (Zorki, Kiev) around my neck with a strap (the cases smell a bit strong, those russian cows). Where can I find rings to attach to the camera lugs in order to attach a strap? Seems like something that would be easy to fing in a camera shop, but nothing so far. I thought I would check before taking apart a couple of key chains.

go to a key cutting kiosk at the mall.
they should have lots to choose from.

Like Joe said, or most good hardware stores... but, do you
have a strap? Most new straps come complete with rings.

No camera store near you? Try a sporting goods, or even
a w-mart. Allen makes a decent (and cheap) foam strap
for binoculars. That's what I'm using on one Kiev.

I bought a package of small rings from B&H one time when I ordered stuff from them. Not worth buying from them if that is the only thing you need, but a good add in with other things.

I heard that the leather cases smell if they were 'restored' in urine. The one that came with my Kiev has no detectable smell.

A lot of old leather cases will start smelling after they have gotten wet. Urine was once a tanning chemical. It also happens with non-Soviet leather. My mother once had a purse made in Mexico (back in the '50's) that developed the same problem.

I second the suggestions of :

I got one for my Kiev, (Never seems like there are enough straps to go around) for about $5. It has rings and works well. Looks like a smaller version of an Optech strap.
