Help needed to understand the RFF site

Dear RFF members,

I am new to RFF and would like to post some pictures in the M8 gallery but am completely baffled about how to post a picture. I registered last night but did not get any confirmation email from RFF; sent an email to StephenRFF@gmail.com (StephenRFF@gmail.com) asking for help but no reply from him either. Sorry to be so dense, I can logon but can not figure out how to post a picture to a gallery. I can’t locate any upload or similar button. When I registered, the site said something about getting an email from RFF before I could upload etc. My email is an .edu email so it should not be banned. Do I need to be a premier subscriber before I can upload a picture to a gallery?

Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to RFF! You use the 'manage attachments' button located below where you enter text in a new post to upload pictures.

Thanks for the welcome and help Peter :)

But how do I submit to a gallery? I think I understand how to start a thread or reply to a post and then attach a picture to it (which would then be a part of my post) but am confused about submitting a picture directly to a gallery (M8 gallery for example). There is no button to start a new post in a gallery as far as I can see.

Ok, just located the "Upload Photos" button on the upper right hand side of a gallery. I think I will be ok now :)

click on "gallery" at the top right of your screen
If you are logged in, it should say "Welcome, (your name)" at the top right of the screen

There should be a link "My Photos" at the left side of the screen - not the far left - that you should click to begin uploading your pics.

After clicking on "My Photos", continue by clicking on "Upload Photos" at the far right side of the screen, on the same line as the "My Photos" link you just clicked.

Here, you will be presented with a screen where you choose the gallery to which the images will be uploaded, the locations of the files on your computer, and a generic label (if applicable) for all the files. Please note that your pictures cannot be larger than 350K, I think.

Locate the images you wish to upload, placing one in each white blank box, and continue by clicking "Upload/submit" at the bottom of the screen.

Now, you'll find yourself at a screen with a title "photopost Add Photos" at the top left (3 lines down from the very top). INput a title, description, camera, lens, film, location, etc. and make sure your category box defines the correct gallery for entry. It should probably be "Member Galleries" unless you have created a custom album.

After entering all these details, continue to the bottom of the screen and click "Process"

You're done.
