Hello to all,

I would like to replace the shutter-time-wheel on my M6TTL (it is scratched).

I prefer to do it myself to avoid waiting for it to return.

Any-one knows how to dis-assemble (and re-assemble) it?

Thanks for suggestions.

Got it!

Step 1: remove the disk with time indications.
(it is glued with 2 sided self-adhesive tape)
Use a sharp object in the little notch between 1/2 and 1/4 sec.

Then the screws that hold the wheel become accessible.

How badly scratched can it be that it needs to be removed, mad_boy? I'd do something along those lines if the numbers were unreadable or it were in really bad shape, but... a scratch?

I too have Leica gear... and must admit to getting a little fidgety when I noticed some very slight brassing in the corners of my black camera. However, a Leica rep said to me (about the MP in black paint) that a camera that shows use "tells a story."

I liked that statement. No longer will I fuss over scratches.

Sure... as long as it wasn't the owner who decided to disassemble it just to fix a scratch.
