Leica M meter

Hello,

I wonder if any of you could explain to me why the M-meter is valued so little compared with all other Leica products. I know they take the old mercury batteries, but replacements are available. Also, are they in any way specific to the M-series, or would they fit a screwmount or a Zorki?

They are specific to the M-series. They couple to a notch in the shutter speed dial.
