In other news today, a popular website at www.rangefinderforum.com - commonly known as RFF - has closed it's virtual doors.

Official comment from the website operators lays the blame at the feet of "excessive bandwidth costs", due to "a large number of frivolous, useless posts about non-photographic topics" by members.

One of the founders of the website was quoted as saying this: "I just wanted to have a nice website about Leicas, and a bunch of web dorks showed up and ruined the show. They were constantly posting pictures of their pets and kids, and talking about non-Leica topics like beer, food, motorcycles. Often, they would talk about nothing at all, just filling the Internet tubes with garbage. Sure, they were having fun, but at what expense? Why couldn't we just stay on-topic, and talk about Leicas and Leica photography? *sigh*"

Red shift is caused by the expanding universe, the artificial black hole with which this should be compensated is not yet ready. At FED it was sugested to compensate for red shift in long exposures, more than two millenia, in postprocessing. Software to do that will be available in time.
