Sorry if this has been asked/answered (I did a search and didn't see it)....

What color space do you have your M8 set to?

The in-camera CS is used by the JPEG engine only: so, sRGB for the monitor, AdobeRGB/ECI for the post-processing(JPEG post-processing?). The profile is not embedded in the DNG.

Thank you. The manual is a little confusing.

Actually, the profile is embedded in the DNG file. The sensor writes the same information to the DNG/Raw file regardless of the chosen profile, but whatever color space you've chosen is, indeed, embedded there. You can convert to a different color space later, of course.

I use Adobe 1998, as its gamut is better-suited to output to a print.

Interesting- can you elaborate? I've always wondered as to which setting is best- and why or for which application.

If you use a commercial printer, I think it'll get stuck in sRGB regardless.

Ted,

Look here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRGB_color_space

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_RGB_color_space

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ProPhoto_RGB_color_space

These are simple expalinations.

ProPhoto is what I set the color space in CS2 to work in, along with 16 bit. It is such a wide gamut of color. I knock it down to Adobe 1998 when I submit my work to an agency or for web viewing.
