Hello everybody!

Recently I bought an M6. I am not new to photography, but I am a bloody beginner when it gets down to rangefinder cameras. Any tips on how to get quickly used to focusing and setting selective depth of field?

guten tag

purchase lot's of cheap b+w film (say maco 100 or something) and shoot, shoot, shoot. stick with one film and one developer for a while.
also, take a few minutes and REALLY understand how the meter in the m6 works.
other than that you should be gut!

Well, keep the lens close to the point you expect to focus for a particular situation (like 6-10 feet for street photos, infinity for landscapes, etc.). Then you will be close when you bring the finder to your eye for focusing. Practice just guessing distance and focusing at home or out and about. After you feel comfortable with focusing, shoot, shoot, shoot and print, print, print.
