I have a few problems to report:

1: The shutter won't fire

2: The battery stays only half full

3: My 28mm ASPH 2.8 won't mount.

4: My bank loan is killing me in interest and I don't have a camera to help pay it off.

If it was returned from Germany I might be able to do something to fix the above. New Zealand is third world when it comes to postage. I'm guessing I'll see it late Jan, over 8 weeks after sending it. Currently my bank is the only one making money from this camera.

Did you buy it from Auckland Camera?

How does your lens not mount?

Send it back to Solms or have your dealer replace it if possible.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope you can get it sorted out as hassle free as possible.

I think this thread is somewhat tong in cheek? I believe he's referring to the fact his camera is in Solms so he cannot...

Just a hunch.

I'm passing by Solms on the way in two weeks time. Shall I stop at Leica and fondle it for you?:p

Yes, tounge in cheek. I love the camera and am itching to use it properly. All the above problems would be fixed if it was in front of me.

No, I didn't buy the camera from Auckland Camera. I prefer good service. I got it from Photo Video Int, Christchurch.

Camera arrived back yesterday and all is good. All the above mentioned problems are solved and I'm noticing better high ISO performance and more consistant exposures.

Tell me more about your Leitz lens not mounting.

I have a 1963 50/2 DR Summicron that really doesn't want to play with my M8.
