On the Sunday visit to the Bargin shops I found a couple of items. First at the Goodwill this Rolleicord TLR . It was in a Leather case and still had film loaded. Not sure what model it is. The lens is marked Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 1:2.5 / 75. Shutter speed B-1/250 F stops 3.5-22. At the next stop. The Value Village I came across the Ricohflex Ricohkin 35mm film kit. I had a quick look but I don't think it will fit the Rolleicord.

John, I'm not sure but the Rolleicord looks like a III or IV. Damn you're lucky!

I did a check by serial numbers 1385019 looks like it's a Model III version 1

It's a IV, it has the MX sync for flash under the taking lens. The III has only X-sync. Looks like it is in good shape, with both case and lens cap, which in most cases indicates it's been taken better care of. I don't think the Ricohflex adapter will work on the Rolleicord.

EDIT: The serial number given also confirms this, as the production runs between 1344051 - 1390999. Probably made in August or September 1954 if my sources are correct.

That's a really nice camera you got there. I love Rolleicords!

ok it's a IV if you say so, as I am Rolleicord unlearned. Yes it has the M-X slider under the bottom lens. What is the slide button just to the lower right of the viewing lens? Shows red when pushed down. I had a look at the Ricohkin and it dosen't appear to fit this camera. What models would it fit.

Oh couldn't figure the 1/250 top speed if it's a IV so I pushed the lever a bit farther and after a fair gap up comes the 1/500 mark. thanks John

well it's not a rollei product, so it would fit a ricohflex camera, by the brand Ricoh

The 'ricohflex' on the box was a big giveaway ;)

It's the double exposure prevention - when the red shows, you can do double exposures. I don't use double exposures, but the prevention is handy as you don't get the funny two photos on one frame by accident, as is possible with the earlier Rolleicords.

My IV is a couple of thousand serial numbers older than yours, but made the same year. It has been working well for a few years, in spite of a ding on the lens panel from someone dropping the camera. When I took it out of its hiding in the box yesterday, I found out it's about time to get a CLA - 1 second sticks... It's pretty normal for a camera which is past its 50th anniversary without any signs of a recent CLA.

The 1/500 sec speed is "hidden" but that's how it works, no worries about it.

The 35 mm adapter for the Rolleicords/Rolleiflexes is named Rolleikin and yours should have a Rolleikin 2, if I remember it correctly.
