View Full Version : Grid Girl from close up
Yesterday we had a promotion by Fosters and they flew in one of the Grid Girls for the Melbourn Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Thought you would be interested how they look from close up :-)
Please let me know the shipping charges and if paypal is ok.
Want to share a drink with her?
Socke, it was a tough assignment, but someone had to do it, right ... ?
Gene
Socke, I have nothing to add. Except perhaps: "Down, boy! Down!". :)
Hey NO WAY is she Australian...LOOK she's drinking FOSTERS!
AKALAI
Guys, don't be fooled by the appearance of those Foster Girls. It taste more like engine oil rather than beer. Stay with Becks or Hoegaarden or Erdinger.
BTW, I think the 2001 one looks better. :D

I would even share a FOSTER with her!
Or two!
...hey if she had a long neck of Coopers Red I'd be all over her! ;)
...yeah but if your in Bremen you HAVE to drink Hacke Beck!
"Ich bin Nordisch bei Natur"....hey are Fettes Brot still around? ;)
...hey and if I had the luxury of choice I would definitely go for the Melbourne girl....

Kris - do you get a Hoegaarden in Australia???
heh, i was somewhat amused by the pronounciation of Hoegaarden in the US.

Socke - i was once in Bremen, you guys have some fine microbreweries there!
There's one, i've forgot the name, where we had four pitchers once, two guys and three girls... Ooutside next to the entrance there's a statue of a half-naked lady, and her left (right?) nipple is very shiny from the many hands looking for the "lucky touch"...

Gee, Kris!
First Portia diRossi, now Julia Roberts . . . who's next? . . . 'Big' Nic?
:D /ScottGee1
To be true, the Fosters rep drank Newcastle :-)
Is that an upside-down Australian flag in the full-length pic by Socke? Too funny! :)
So I was in Pittsburgh one Fat Tuesday evening. One of the local breweries had hired a couple hostesses to share their spirits with the crowd and...
...and...?
Come on, rover! Don't hold back now!
Peter...the flag is upside down and diagonally opposite...perhaps some lame "downunder" pun, yeah well easy mistake to make, I mean a German flag would be quite easy to hang the wrong way as well.
...I have a confession...I have actually drunk Fosters, in Germany AND it wasn't too bad...its definitely quite different to the p*** they sometimes try to palm off on unsuspecting victims here in OZ, may have something to do with the Reinheitsgebot???
I worked in a bar during the Olympics here in Sydney and the bar was given FREE kegs of Fosters (only way the owner would allow it on his premises) so that if tourists asked or looked they would see that it was on tap. Marketing is definitely Foster's best attribute!
Actualy it is an irish pub belonging to an irishman. Best place to get Strongbow and Newcastle this side of the canal :-)

If you are ever in Pittsburgh just sit back and enjoy some nice Iron City Ale.
I am impressed Socke! You managed to take those photos with steady hands. Great will power that overcame the physiological tremours! :p I agree with Kris, Foster tastes like fizzy piss! Erdinger forever!

And I don't mean Murphy's stout, although that is good. You should be able to say "pint please" and it gets pulled for you. :)

Peter, do you mean Jameson? :D
Here in the States Foster's comes from Canada. The beer in the blue can indeed tastes like fizzy piss. However, the bitter in the green can is quite good, especially if its not too cold. The British are quite correct IMHO in drinking bitter cool, but not cold. American lager should be drunk cold, however.

One more vote for the Hoegaarden.
Wim
Ooooh, we've got a bit of a problem with Manolo here... ;) Paddy's a bit too raw for me, but Pherdi, would I order a pint of Jameson? I don't think so - couldn't afford it. Not averse to having a small one with a pint though. :) Jameson or Black Bush will do very nicely thanks! :D
The worst beer I ever had was still beer :)
The worst beer would undoubtedly be stale beer. :p
Cheers mates, it's the weekend! :D

Slauntje. Or whatever it should be spelled.

From the irish malts, i prefer Jameson and Bushmills (they are very smooth and taste great), and on the other hand, Kilkenny. Guinness is fine but can't have more than 2 pints - it makes me feel like exploding soon :(
Sláinte - to your health!
Actually, I've more or less given up drinking beer, wine is now more to my taste. Getting soft! :(
akalai, the RFF was the last place on Earth I would have suspected to hear about Fettes Brot - yes, they are still around.
BTW, nobody here who prefers Bohemian/Czech beer? A nice 'real' Budweiser (Budvar), Gambrinus, Starobrno etc. can't be beat...

Roman Roman I like Pilsner Urquell which I understand is considered the Czech Budweiser but it is really nice in comparison to the American stuff...
This is nearly rising to the level of intentional infliction of emotional distress. There is nothing more that I would like than a good ale. . . but I just can't. Unfortunately, in spite of my mixed Scottish, German, and Hispanic heritage, my anti-drinking genes kicked in at around age 25. One beer, or one sip of wine, and I'm hugging porcelain the next day.
All this talk still triggers memories of wonderful tastes and scents and makes my mouth water. I'll just go shut my office door and cry, just not in a beer :)

Hey Roman, are you a Funf Sterne Deluxe fan as well? I have some old CD's from my time over there....
Hey Peter, put me down for some Pilsner Urqell...but I prefer a good Paulaner!

i get really bad migraines and as i got older alcohol of any kind became a trigger.
i'm in pain, big time, before i put the glass down.
but i sure do miss my scotch, my cigar and the odd brew in the summer.

Pilsner Urquelle is one of my favourites - or I should say was, as it suddenly jumped in price, here, when the distributor changed.
But the beer I love most is Coopers Sparkling Ale (that's right, Akalai, it's gotta be the red label!).
Of course, the best beer is the current one.
Cheers,
Steve

Pilsner Urquel. Hard to beat. My girlfriend, with whom I live, used to be able to drink 7-8 a night, interspersed with a shot of something or other. Now she can't drink at all and has frequent migrains. Perhaps genetic, indeed.
As three of my four grandparents were born in Ireland I am thus not afflicted.

I don't drink beer (no limit on wine, though) but I do know that our own LilRedSpy is far more attractive than any of those winches, and a ton more talented too since she's mostly on the other side of the camera proving it.
