I got a "rigid" chrome 50 summicron for $400 and something and haven't really gotten to test it till yesterday. At f2 it has a soft/dreamy bokeh while maintaining very good detail. Not a great shot, in mixed fluorescent window sunlight, but it shows the bokeh rendering well I think. best...Peter

Yep! Fabulous lens and the shot is not too bad either. A much underrated lens and soooo compact. I am looking at adding a 50/1.4 ASPH to my kit, but will not easily part with my Cron.

yep, nice old lens your 50 summicron and, may I point you to that issue, it is devisible in two parts for the use with the BOWUM ( ‚Leitz-Staebchengerät’). Very usefull for small repros etc.

I opted for the Noctilux and this lens. I could easily see going for the 1.4 instead, and in either case, have this cron as a light and lovely lens for many applications. best....Peter
