At 35 degC here in Brisbane that doesn't do much for me ... can you arrange for some simulated sweat to trickle down the screen for us Oz users?

Snowflakes in hell me thinks. In Adelaide on Saturday the mercury stopped rising at an official temp. of 42c. Thats about 106f in the old money.

It's super annoying.

I wouldn't buy something from the advertiser just due to the annoying ad.

You have snow out there Joe. Lucky you.

We just had the warmest autumn recorded in over 300 years with an average of 13.6 centigrade, and there's no sign of change.

If we wanna have snow and cold, we all have to leave the door of the fridge open for a couple of weeks..

Great. Tonight I will open my window so that the temperature get's near 0° C, get a cup of hot Glühwein (don't know how to translate that) and get the feel of wintertime. As pvdhaar mentioned it's way to warm for this season and to drink Glühwein I should at least feel cold :)

IGMeanwell
12-11-2006, 22:56
I think its a nice touch ... we don't have our own snow yet (a little strange at this time of year)

so this will help with the ambiance :)

Gluhwein - it would translate as a hot spiced or mulled wine.

Wine, sugar, brandy, cinnamon, cloves, oranges, lemons, other stuff - mix em together in some fashion that I cannot remember and then heat it up. Very nice on a cold night.

Very disturbing on a 30" Apple screen.

But quaint enough we have seen the first real snow here in Bavaria too, just about the same time it started snowing on RFF. Time to get the 4WD out of the garage...

Scroll down, the snow falls all the way to the bottom of the page. It doesn't build up though, someone has more programing to do.

It must be too warm in the UK. No snow here. Maybe the monitor is too hot and is melting it!!

Be back in the spring.

I can't believe grown ups are actually more charmed than annoyed by silly javascripts. It's bad enough that as a paying subscriber I need to see ads at all but when they stop being easily ignored, it feels pretty instrusive.

Where's the Firefox "block stupid animation" extension?

kmack

Where's the Firefox "block stupid animation" extension?

Get the Web Developer Extention (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/60/) 1.0.2 for Firefox. Once it is installed you can disable javascript per session or page ( as well as lots of other cool stuff).

nightfly
12-12-2006, 10:23
Nice. I actually have that installed, being a web developer and all, and it froze the snow dead.

Thanks.

...let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. :p :p :p

the snowflakes: ne vous inquiétez pas à son sujet. :D :D :D

...especially if i don't have to drive through it. last week i did in virginia and today i'm in l.a. where the roads are dry and the air is brown/grey.

the snowflakes: for the slow (like me) they're good skeet practice. :p :p

No snow in my monitor... Maybe it's because my computer is an old iMac and my browser is Netscape 7.1.

As for snow... we had a nice snowstorm here last week (over a foot in 7 hours), and today it's melting down. Midwestern weather...

With this kind of snow, I'll build three. One "plain" chrome, another black chrome, and the other crazy-Joe Burgundy Lizzard leatherete. What's the lens on that "snow"?
