Too much temptation ?? I lust for it too. Maybe an RFF member will grab it up.
Is this the FSU Big Catch of the day ??

Just got the Nikkormat FTn with 50/2 in the mail today...All is well.

I saw a few lens's too, that I would like to have. A J3. But I have enough for now. 1 AF SLR Film, 1 MF SLR, 1 MF RF. Plus my DSLR. Now it is time to take some pictures. I have a model shoot this Sat. So I will use the DSLR, but take Film copy's too. What fun :)

Have fun on that shoot.

My shoot tomorrow has been delayed until wednesday due to a doctor're appointment or something. *sigh*

Is this really the rare pink DRUG, or were you using a Leica M8 to take the photo? >;-)

Ash

I didn't even notice the colour until you mentioned it!!

Also note that contrary to what it says on Fedka's page, the finder's frame lines are reflected (like a Canon VI-T or P) rather than projected (as on an M Leica, Bessa RF, etc. -- note the lack of the frosted front window used for illuminating projected framelines.)

Still, the finder is bright and clear (and sports 1:1 magnification) and I'd have to stick with my assessment that the Drug is the most conveniently usable of any of the FSU cameras I've tried (and better made than most.)

I've plugged my Drug page before, but what the heck, I'll plug it again: click here. (http://homepage.mac.com/jlw/photo/drug/)

Russian camera ... 'Drug' ... sort of says it all really!

I reckon the only real 'drug' for FSU gas is something that renders you totally unconcious! :D

I now have a major problem that will need some type of medication I suspect ... I can't stop thinking about the possibility of owning a 'real' Contax!

Keith, stick with the Kiev. Get some of your best photo's you've ever taken through it. THEN think about a Contax, and get THE best photo's you've ever taken :D

its pretty rare and it comes from Fedka. I saw some on the bay go for 150-180 euros.

someone from RFF offered me one a while ago for about 80 euros, he was from germany I think but can't remember who.

There're two cameras for sale on molotork.ru; one for about 95 euros and the other one for 72

Yeah, but one thing about the Drug is that it's a pretty good camera on an absolute scale, not just "pretty good by FSU standards."

The pick-up-and-turn shutter speed dial and bottom rewind knob are a bit, er, quaint, but other than that it's not really far off the offerings of Canon and Nikon of the same era in terms of convenience and usability. The fit and finish are very nice and the finder optics are quite good.

This is one of the few FSU cameras that might be worth considering for anyone who wants the experience of using a '50s RF camera, not just people who enjoy FSU cameras...

Looks like way too expensive. You can get a Drug from a reliable ebay seller for 100$ less.

2 Kometas were made not Drugs. Also "Drug 2" is pretty rare "only a few unites made" according to Princelle. There were indeed 23k Drugs manufactured.

Thanks for the correction on what Camera had only 2 made.

There was a version 2 made? What was differant in that version? FSU Camera history is very interesting to learn about.

I think the only difference was added lightmeter. I will doublecheck with Princelle later tonight when I come home. As far as I remember Kometa and Drug 2 were the only KMZ rangefinders with lightmeter.
