Does anyone know if the Heliar 50/2 can collapse successfully into the Leica CL? By successfully I mean clearing the metering arm of the CL.

thanks

I do have this lens but not the body you mention. I noticed that the Heliar's rearward projection (when collapsed) is LESS than the rearward projection of my 35mm Summicorn ASPH. This doesn't answer your question; it's meant to describe how little of the Heliar actually sticks out its back mount when its collapsed.

Tom, I happened to be looking at CameraQuest last night, and it specifically mentions that the Heliar 50/2 can safely collapse into the Leica CL. The page is here: http://www.cameraquest.com/leicacl.htm
