Hello RF commerads,

I am a new member from Holland. How did I got into USSR RF shooting?..well I just stared with taking pictures a year ago..digital. Then on the attic I discovered a brand new Zorki 4.

I decided to try the camera...well since then I didn't thouched the digital camera anymore. No more menu's, same amount of functions as a Boeing 747 or batteries etc.

I now just love to get bact to the roots. I have to learn a lot, but with sunny 16 I already had some good results. Hope I can learn a lot form this forum.

Here you can see my Zorki:

Welcome Schorki

Many here wish that they had an attic like your's.

That is a nice camera. I know what you mean about "menus & batteries". Some of the older digitals eat batteries for breakfast, lunch and supper.

Glad to have you around here!
Lots of nice people here and they are VERY helpful!
Just a note of caution: that beautiful Zorki will soon be getting lonely and almost before you know it , you'll find your self cruising any local camera shops and the web for companions for it;)
The good news is this(mostly) wonderful gear is relatively cheap :D
Enjoy! Hope to see some pics.

Welcome Jeroen
I am new to this place to - only been here for a week - but it seems like a really nice place to be - lots of knowledge combined with lots of nice people - warning though - it seems that this place developes RF addicts - like there is always a rangefinder missing in your possetion :-) ruben, denmark

Hey, another country-mate? Welkom!:)
We have here another Jeroen, do you know that? Now people might think half of the Dutch are called Jeroen :)
There are a few more from the NL. Go on the first page ("home") and click on the Member Map link on the left, put in your pin so we can see where you are from.

We are waiting for the pictures taken with that nice Zorki.

Thanks for the warm welcome!! I already saw lots of good info on this forum and I also noticed a nice atmosphere. What I also like is that it is not only a collectors forum, I saw a lot of quality pictures!!

I am going to safe money so I can buy a minolta dimage dualscan IV. Here in The Netherlands they are quit expensive..339 euro. I can't wait to post my first picture.

Also nice that there are some other Dutch rf shooters here;-)

Maybe I should remove my pin from Holland and just leave the one in Mongolia. :p

Ook welkom vanuit Amsterdam, Jeroen!

These guys are right: soon your Zorki will need and want a mate. And then you will want a camera that is a bit more modern and with a bit brighter VF; a Bessa will do just fine, thank you. Oh, and then you get curious about them Leica-thingies everyone is talking about; another victim of the M-bug is born. :)

Welcome!
As for the Minolta DS IV, I'm also looking for one - and you'll find much better prices if you mailorder from Germany, even if you figure in postage - they are around 270 Euros there (check at www.geizhals.de).

Well, when you said brand new you meant brand new ! Looks spotless !

Welcome Jeroen !!! What do they put in your water that there are so many RF users in Holland ? :)

Btw you can just safe the intermediate steps (Canonet, Bessa, etc) and start saving for a Leica MP, in the end you'll be doing that anyway :p
