M8 arrived - unpacking and test images

Okay, my battery is now charged, so here is a Capture One processed version for my dynamic range torture test. This is in my garage attic, and it does double duty as a computer graveyard. This has a subject brightness range of about 12 stops, and I underexposed this sllghtly at ISO 1250. I agree with all the comments about the .icc profile in Capture one being a little oversaturated and a little magenta. I desaturated the jpeg by 20%. No banding detected, even though it has a high ISO and a very bright source of light right next to dark areas.

The file size limitations on this site prevent me from attaching the raw .dng file, unfortunately.

This is great seeing M8 images starting to make out on the net. I really like that image and think that the camera handled the situation well. Of course it takes a good operator as well. ;)

I don't know what happened to the file. I uploaded it to the file factory site. I did not create a user name or anything, though. I get enough spam as it is. Do they just keep anonymous files for a few minutes?

Wide open Noct. Noticed some blue fringing on the slats of the blinds when I zoomed in. But I think the Noct is going to be the go-to lens for everyone who loves the 75 lux on film leicas. Yummmm.

Thanks for this "quick torture"! What's especially interesting for me is how this image renders on an LCD and CRT[1]... and shot at the "unacceptable" ISO of 1250...

You might want to grab one of those discarded CRTs: LCD is not nearly capable of resolving what /old, good/ CRTs can. Sure, it may only do 1024x768, but for pixel peeping, that'll do.
