View Full Version : New member introduction
Just a note to introduce myself: Ken Frazier, longtime Nikon SLR user, advanced amateur, recently converted to Leica RF, and love it! (Still love my Nikons!) At one time, a long time ago, I did my own B&W darkroom work, but now I have my film developed and scan my negs with a Nikon Coolscan IV ED. I print with Epson 1280 and R800 and am very happy with my results.
Look forward to being a member of this forum.
And we look forward to having you, Ken! :) Welcome! I am also a Leica fan - I have had mine for 1 & 1/2 years and I have hardly touched my Nikon F3 in that time! Just this week I scanned my first neg so I am a newbie with scanners - I'm sure I'll learn a lot from you on that topic. :)

Welcome to the forum, Ken. I hope we get to see some of your shots in the gallery soon. I'm an ex-Nikon, ex-Leica guy but both are very nice systems -- it's nice that all brands are welcomed equally here.
Cheers,
D2
Thanks for the kind words, folks. I'll post some of my more recent "decent" shots soon.
I just opened a gallery and posted a B&W, and will post more later.
Welcome to RFF, Ken! Sounds like you're already "infected" with RF disease...
I've had my M2 since 1967, almost as long as I've been a Pentax user. Can't recall now why I chose to buy a Nikon FG for my folks... :)

Thanks, Peter. I've posted several of my more recent scans, so you can judge for yourself whether or not I could be of help. :) I'm still trying to figure out the many settings in NikonScan and Vuescan.

I bought my first Nikon around 1970. (I've got the original warranty somewhere.) My daughters grew up seeing a black F2 Photomic growing out of my face, so this Christmas they conspired to buy me a surprise, a brand-new FM3A! It is a joy and a delight to use. I'm shooting a Nikkor 35 f/1.4 on it right now. My first Leica was a "beater" M3, with a Summicron 50/2 collapsible. The lens had to be CLA'd, and is now a real gem. The M3 just keeps on working. I like the solid mechanical feel of both my Leicas and Nikons...just can't be beat.
LOL Ken, I could learn from anybody! Good job I'm not depending on the scans for prints. I'm just scanning for the web but still I'm beginning to realize there is a lot to learn... :(

Welcome Ken!
Welcome to the fraternity Ken! Let us see your work! :)
I've started a gallery here, with 3 photos. I'll be adding more when I make the time...later today, I hope. Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for looking and commenting on the pics. Hmm, I just realized I can add a gallery link to my signature, but I don't know how to do that, yet. :-)
