Last night after dinner I woke up the computer and started to check my email when there was a large dark grey puff of smoke and the lovely smell of fried electronics and my monitor acted like it was degaussing itself before giong completely dark. :bang: :bang: :bang:
(in the spirit of PG-13 all actual phrases, words, and misc. sounds of panic and anger have been changed to protect the innocent)
I yanked the power supply cord and opened the window near the PC.
I then called my brother (who happens to have a PC in his closet he's not using since he upgraded) and asked if I could have the monitor he's not using.
This morning I picked it up. plugged it in and was amazed how good this site really looks!:D
I knew my monitor was dim but OH MAN! what a difference!
And the new(er) one is bigger as well.
best of all--free!
Now that I can really see all your pictures I hope to make more intellegent comments about 'em.

How come I am picturing two guys in v-neck white tee shirts shouting to each other out their windows across an alley? Sounds like a modern Honeymooner's episode.

Now you need to calibrate it! :D

If you hit your old monitor on the right side of the front bezel it will probably return to normal. Works every time... ;)

no vee neck shirts for me, thanks.
the way you read those sentences is why I'm a cook and not a writer.
 should have written some thing like: I yanked the power cord and opened the window next to the PC to let the smoke out into the dark and stormy night.
I then got my brother on the phone(do'nt worry his balance is pretty good) and asked etc, ect.
serious color calibration isn't possible with this monitor(I can choose between 9300k or 6500k and that's about it) but this camera looks really cool.
I think it would be a good companion for that pink(now japanesque gold?) camera I've seen around this forum:D
this is from a korean sales site I suspect its fake but still...http://classicrussia.com/ttmall/mall.cgi?skin=view&goods_code=332&category_code=20

And now the truth,

I wrote my comment while wearing flannel sleep pants and...a white v-neck tee shirt. Oh, and I have been fighting a cold and was pretty tired last night so I just had a couple Hot Dogs for dinner. No real cooking happened here.
