Leica CLA

I just got my IIc in today, and it looks as though it's going to need a CLA. (loud return on shutter, as well as shutter curtain hanging at lower speeds when the release is held down.)

I am currently awaiting a reply from the seller who advertised it as in good working condition (which it is not) to see what they are willing to do about it.

So my question is: Where can I get a good quality CLA? I'd like to keep the turn-around time down, if possible, but I would rather an A+ job over a B- job and a 2wk turn-around. What sort of cost are we talking here, too. I know it won't be inexpensive, but I've got GAS, and I want to figure out what I can and can't spend, here.

I just gave them a call and they quoted me $250. that's how much I paid for the camera!

Try Youxin Ye for a CLA of your IIc.
I also have a IIc that he CLA'd for me after I bought it.
He's fast and very reasonable. You can search RFF for his contact info.

You will find Youxin very reasonable as well as fast. DAG is expensive and has a tremendously long waiting list. They both do excellent work.

I third Youxin Ye, he CLA'd, repaired and converted (DS to SS) my M3 in about 2 weeks for around $275. Kept me advised durng the worrk. Like new now.

When I spoke to him about 6 months ago (?), he did M's and LTM leicas. I dont know if that has changed. I will definitely send mine to him, but my IIIC just keeps working. :)

He's working on LTMs, gave me a deal I couldn't refuse, so Im shipping it off monday!
