That's something... I'm not sure what. At least the cameras look correct for the time frame. I think I'll wait till it's on DVD.

That looks odd. I guess its fiction with 1/10 of the real diane arbus.(statistic fabricated I'm not an Arbus historian)
ugh.
that rolleiflex didn't look like a rolleiwide, either.

Given the director's relatively shallow track record, I don't know what to think. The trailer doesn't look encouraging.

I loved the use of symbolism and metaphors. Some examples include: The association between the scene in which Diane strip in the final sequence and the earlier scenes where she dresses up to their necks as part of social etiquette. Then there is the stark contrast between Lionel and women furry high-rated that they were obsessed with skin and another interesting contrast between dark skin and smooth skin Lionel translucent Diane.

I love the work of Diane Arbus, even if I sometimes find it disturbing. I have a book from her "Revelations" which is very interesting because of photos and various comments in it. I met her daughter Amy at a photo workshop. And at the end I bought the mentioned DVD but, IMHO it has very little to do with Diane Arbus life, the story is mainly phantasy .

Holy cuss.. What a horrible title!
As the title says, "An Imaginary Portrait......".. None of this is true. I was friends and studied with the Arbus' assistant, Tad Yamashiro, a great photographer in his own right.
this film has been out on DVD for years
