Hello,

Sorry of this has been answered but a serach can't find it for me - I presume I can use non-chipped (6 bit) M mount lenses on the M8. But what will I miss - exif information I presume but anything else?

thanks

Some light fallof corrections in the RAW to JPEG processing in-camera. That's it.

6 bit information not only applies to EXIF information but also software that helps with the convergence of colors in the corners of the image especially. I've read that the settings for lenses can be over ridden however, this probably deals with DNG files and Leica's software. Results may vary shooting JPGs. Oh, and until someone gets their hands on a camera that can write a thourough review.

As one reviewer said, use any lens you want and forget about it. That is the exif data, crop factor, etc., etc.......

I would think that all of this could be taken care of in post processing
