A couple of test shots I took today. It was overcast and I was using dollar store 200 ASA fim so colors aren't the best.

Your IIIa has given the Dollar Store asa 200 a touch of class that it probably didn't deserve.

Superb looking photos John.
Did you use the Summitar on the IIIa?

Leica IIIa and Summitar. My scans aren't the best I think they loose something with my 7 dollar goodwill scanner.

Mighty fine looking images John, especially for the dime store film, I know you can't wait for the next test...

Did you touch them up using PS before you scanned them? Just curious! Everyone's photos taken with their barnack's look great when I see them on the RFF. Mine only look so - so to me. I don't have a scanner or I would post some of them. Then maybe someone could help me obtain the type of photographs I'm looking for. I am shooting with a IIIf and the 5CM f3.5 Elmar.
Keep posting your photos they are good.

Ah, haha...
that's probably the funniest thing I've heard. I actually just bought some $.99 film the other day to test out a few new toys (3 leica II clones, and a real Leica IIc)

If you want an old uncoated lens to look more modern, the cheaper the film ,the better off you are. They have lots of contrast and color saturation that the uneducated seen to prefer. There is a Fuji film called HD100 that fits the bill. One dollar a roll in a five pack.
