Just thinking the other day about what I really enjoy in life. Surprised myself a bit about how much I'm loving my work at the moment. But if I had to put things in order (best first):

1. My wife and family
2. Photography - all aspects
3. My job
4. My gym workouts
5. Golf

What I can do without (worst first):

1. The lump in my head and all that goes with it
2. My folks' messy separation
3. My daily commute
4. My looming professional exams
5. The UK weather

I guess that changes daily for me, but right now I can think of

Liking:
1. Ice cold beer on a scorching day
2. Opening up the envelope of prints after a photo trip
3. Cheese
4. My job, because it provides for my needs and for my hobbies.
5. Reading RFF ;)

Not liking so much:
1. Having to work
2. My daily commute on a packed train with sweaty and smelly half-asleep people
3. Staring at a screen all day and getting a headache out of it.
4. Long plane trips with crappy legroom.
5. People who can't make up their minds.

i knew there was one I forgot! I had a song going through my head and forgot music as one of my main loves! Probably as important as Photography.

And lubitel - I'm a resident-level doc in the good ol' British National Health Service. It's more a case of loving my work rather than the job, as anyone who has had the misfortune of working in Tony Blair's NHS will testify.

Music needn't be on vinyl. Of course the richest sounds come from a nice home sound system, but that said the warmest tones (audibly) can only be heard on a classical guitar made for concert halls - and that should probably be my love above all else - cos you would literally fall in love with the sound of the guitar being played properly.



of course, its been a couple years since I played frequently, as such the guitar rarely gets played :( - thats a hate of mine
