Apologies first, if this topic was already discussed at length...

So I went to the French website where I saw and heard the M8 firing. Sounded pretty good. But, I'm hoping that the new M8 with also have a silent mode function, that's silimilar to the one once featured in Konica AF's.

Won't be a deal breaker, though I really miss that - especially when I'm shooting music concerts...

I guess that a half-case would help a fair bit silencing shutter take and recocking noise.

Anyone else hoping for the same?

Silent mode? how about hide photographer mode? so none can see you :)

Yes, I'm hoping there's the option of delaying the shutter cocking until you take your finger off the release button. That would all you to put the camera under your jacket etc. before recocking. Very useful for functions where disturbance is a no no.

Bob.

Konica AF was leaf-shuttered.

There's no moving part but the shutter. I've heard it, it's quite responsibly quiet. No "WHIRR" at all in cocking.

Quiet mode was to cut the noise from the film wind motor (none in an M8) and the autofocus motor (none in an M8).
