a friend of mine bought for nothing (500$) a black nikon SP with 50/1.4. I'm not sure that this is an original black camera, but I'm not sure. Is there someone thath can tell to me some reference (for example serial numbers) to identify the camera, I'm sorry but I haven't photos of this camera. Camera had the shuteer curtain (no stainless).
thanks in advance

An original black camera would have a lot of brassing.

there is a lot of brassing but I'm not an expert and I'm nit sure if it was repainted or not, so I'm looking for serial numbers.
thanks

Please send us the serial number, and I can check the "authentic numbers" list. I belong to the Nikon Historical Society, and they published a list of fake and authentic black bodies.

Or post the question on the Nikon Historical Society, url: http://p200.ezboard.com/fnikonhistoricalsocietyfrm2

No membership is needed.

A black body can range from $3500 and upwards.

The original black Nikon SPs were special-order cameras, manufactured one at a time as ordered. So there wouldn't be a specific bloc of serial numbers.

Oops. Nikon Kiu tells me the black cameras were made in batches afterall.
