What is the closest focussing regular (not dual range) 50 mm for a Screw/M mount? I am frustrated by my Summicron's limitation of 1m.
The 50/1.5 Nokton goes down to 90 cm.
I think if you want to get closer you really run into limitations of rangefinder cameras.
What's the problem with the Dual Range Summicron? Goes down to 50cm or so with full parallax correction.

Try an Elmar mounted on a NOOKY!
It works very well. Here's an example (shot at about 30cm I guess).

Actually, I own a tie between the 50mm f:2 DR 'cron and the Nikkor 50mm f:1.4 at 18", give or take. The Nikkor doesn't have the goggles of the DR 'cron so using it at 18" is something of a hassle to say the least. Since I started using the DR at minimum focus distance, I have to say that 18"-20" isn't all that close with a 50mm lens. My SLR lenses focus a lot closer and provide a larger image. The DR Summicron's close focusing is the best you'll find on a rangefinder. Don't confuse it with true macro photography.

Nikkor 50/2 focusses to about 2.7 feet on a IIIf. Closer if you don't need the rangefinder.

I am going to be using it on an M3. The rangefinder can be adjusted to allow for closer focussing, can't it? How about the Russian lenses, or the Zeiss, or the Hexar? Anyone know?
