really is a shame, even though I'll be honest that I've never heard of this specific cathedral before. I wonder how much of the interior furnishings they were able to save before the dome collapsed?

I never heard of it either, but it's big and it looks like a giant torch. It probably burned to the ground.

Latest news I heard on BBC was that the main dome was burnt and completely destroyed, as well as one on the side. People off the street went in and took out as many artifacts as they could to save them. I think it was the mayor who said that they may be able to restore the damage within a few years.
