I'm halfway to an M system!

Today my first Leica, an M2, arrived, and it's really beautiful. I bought it from a fellow on p-net, and he was super to deal with. He also has an M-Hexanon 50 for a reduced price, if someone is looking.

The above link contains yet another link to photos of the camera, covered in green leatherette. No way it can compete w/ the gold cover someone else posted, but from a distance it has a burnished grey appearance that is very attractive. And functionally, the camera is really solid, speeds sound good, rangefinder is bright.

Thanks to all who've advised me on finding my first rangefinder. Lens will arrive in a week and I'll be set to shoot.

You probably picked the best time to purchase this camera. While everybody will be shooting their P&S with noxious flashes, you'll be discreetly taking photographs with a reliable, battery-free instrument, and, of course, getting people more relaxed, without the "deer-in-the-headlights" look that non-bounced flash puts in their eyes.
