Thanks ManGo.
Just to expand on the theme that I picked for July a bit:
Nocturnal
So many activities - even entire lifes - exists only during the hours of the night.
The purpose of July's Salon competition is to try to depict such nocturnal living (may it be a bat, a student pulling an all-nighter, a cab driver at a late-night diner, etc, etc - there are many ways to interpret the theme)...
As ManGo mentioned the winner will be receiving a brand new, unused Luigi wriststrap in black leather.
Looking forward to seeing the entries :)

:) good subject. Although pretty wide!
I think of something in the style of Antoine d'Agata "1001 nights"
[google!!]
uh, or, maybe a bit less "controversial" :)

I've seen some of Antoine's photos from the 1001 nights project and some are really good.
(Trivia: he used a Leica for many of the night photos (along with polaroids, etc)).

I've got one. They are nice. :)
.
I will definitely participate in this one. :)
I have two trips coming up this month, both to places I like to explore (and shoot) at night! If I can sneak away I hope to give the re-recalibrated GIII a good test with 1600 film at night!

Hi this is my first post to RFF. Started shooting rangefinders year and half ago, and this forum has always been a great source of information and inspiration. I figured it's about time I did something with these pictures, so here goes. A recent one of my very nocturnal friends. Can't remember the last time i saw them in daylight.

First of all, again thanks to everyone who participated in this month's Salon shoot with the theme 'Nocturnal'.
It was really, really hard picking a winner but in the end I found that ray_G had the image that combined a very strong composition that also told a story (the little boy looking out at the porch light).
So congratulations to Ray who will receive a brand new Luigi leather wrist strap in the mail (PM sent Ray).
Thanks, Rich! It was an interesting salon, and as you mentioned, there were quite a few great photos posted. Truly an honor.
Now I guess I'll need to start thinking of a subject for next month. :)
Congratulations Ray, great shot. Looking forward to next months challenge.

Nice shot! Good work Ray!
Thanks to all, especially to Rich and ManGo.
Don't forget to check out the RFF Salon for August!
Well done Ray! I have always said; " simplicty beats all" and you proved it.
Now, you must come up with a topic for August to equal "Nocturnal", a truly great topic. Go for it!!!!
Cheers,
