Not a great deal of flare ! I had no hood on the lens and shot right into sun and did not expect much. Needless to say, I am quite happy and surprised. There was a lot of flare in the viewfinder making taking the shot a bit of a problem. Alls well that ends well...

you could not ask for anything more from the J-12.
its preformance is as good as any of the 50 + year old german or japanese glass that we rave about on this forum.
