View Full Version : Any Summicron-M (E55) made in Germany
are all SUmmicron 90/2 (pre-ASPH) made in Canada? until when? thanks
The 1st version was made 1957-58, and a few lenses were made at Wetzlar, Germany. Aprox. 100 units were manufactured between serial numbers 1,119,000 and 1,119,100 which actually date from 1953. Go figure !. The lens was not introduced until 1957.
I know for sure *all* of the second version was manufactured in Canada.
I believe *all* of the third version were also made in Canada, although I am having trouble verifying this for sure.
Forgot to give you the dates.
1st version 1957-1958. Aprox. 350-400 Serial numbers from
1,459,000 to 1, 650,000
2nd version 1959-1979. Number not avail. Serial numbers from
1,651,000 to 3,013,000
3rd version 1980 to 1998 Number not avail. Serial numbers from
