Here's another door: It's from the Forbidden City in Beijing China. Doors are so common that right before our eyes, they can easily go unseen. They symbolize change, and sometimes hide great mystery.

As always , very nice pictures, Folks.

This one has a little story behind it...I was walking downtown, last Saturday to meet up with a couple of friends for a couple of the "over-21" beverages and the Canonet was walking shotgun.

I saw those beautiful chandelier lights inside the hallway of an older building and thought..hmmmm..nice shot. I metered for the inside light (no clue on what the settings were) and shot the picture.

As I got the CD back from the lab, I went "WT(F) Heck...there are da(m)rn reflections all over the place". I was so concentrated on the photograph I had already developed in my mind (dark and rough wood VS polished marble and crystal lights) that my brain completely blocked the reflections from piercing into my conscious sight. Very very weird...did anything similar ever happen to any of you Folks ?

In retrospect, I like the picture now, as the reflections are of the street, the other building and the cars parked in front. And yet one can see what's inside - exactly what a door is supposed to do: separate - and exactly what the glass is supposed to do: allow outside/inside looks.

Sorry about my prolixity...but after all it is a WORD/no word thread GRIN.

Motel awaiting demolition; door possibly forced by asbestos removal team... Although this might have been the unit where some dimwits were sniffed-out packaging drugs the day 115 state-wide police canine units were using the building next door for practice raids. Jail is across the street, not far to go. :D

Maybe someone wanted to move in a piece of furniture too large to fit through, so widened it? :) Fascinating how doors can have such character. The orange/blue/pink door for instance, seems pretentious from the start and fallen on hard times.

Thanks Paul.

Seeing what others are posting here, and on the other threads, motivates me go out and try new things. For example the night shots. I saw the photos posted in the "film noir" thread along with the info in the rodinal 1+100 developing thread and thought why not try it myself.

BTW - the Mulberry fork of the Warrior looks like a great place to live.

Yes exactly, a trophy! (sorry for my poor english)

In Ardèche, hunting is still alive, as (fly) trout fishing, mushroom and chesnuts "collecting" (?), trekking, and many other things… that's why i go there very often.

In Ardèche wild porks are really many in winter (because of the chesnuts) - Last year were killed 263 pieces around my village… Here :
