Why is my [IMG] code off?

It seems when I reply to a post my [IMG] tag is ON but when I make a new thread it says my [IMG] code is OFF.

I'd like to have my [IMG] code on all the time. Is this possible?

For the curious, the [IMG] code allows you to embed an image linked from another website, its status is in the lower left of all posts when you make a new post or reply

In this thread it's off. I think this is related to the (sub)forum in which the thread is started.

A while ago a lot of the members wanted attachments because these are faster on dial up lines since you don't have to open the pictures.

IMG is not active on all forums. I pm'd Jorge about it some time ago and he said he'd have to to activate them and that he may get to it soon.

I forgot about the dial up folks, don't want to slow them down with embedded images, I just don't want to attach stuff I have online elsewhere. I can just emded the hyperlink to the image.

In W/NW other folks embed images and I'd like to do the same.

But I can't do it.

I click on the image button and paste in the image reference, today it was:

And the IMG and /IMG tags get added.

But when I look at the post the image isn't there, just a little question mark.

What am I doing wrong here?
