This is ours - half a black Lab and half an Irish Water Spaniel, back when she was a lot smaller than now. I think she was about 4 or 5 months old, here. Sorry to say, it's shot with a Canon 300D, 28-135 IS.

Melanie -- Guess where!
Way too easy. That's the middle of Rittenhouse Square facing southwest toward the corner of 19th and the little street called Rittenhouse Square. The cop hut is behind you and the big fountain that I used to swim my dogs in is to the left. I would walk in the direction you're facing, make a right before getting to the southwest corner, cross the street and head two and a half blocks down Locust to get home from the park after swimming my dogs. There's a good coffee shop on the corner of 19th and Locust, just across from the public library, and a great food specialties shop that has excellent hard salami, cheese, and prepared foods right next door. Then you pass my Wawa, my dry cleaner, and a high-end doggie boutique called Pooch that they used as a stand-in when they were filming "In Her Shoes" in the neighborhood. I lived on the corner of Locust and Van Pelt. It's an awesome neighborhood.
Thanks for the memories!
Unfortunately I wasn't taking pictures at the time, so I have almost no photos of my dogs in that neighborhood. The only one I can think of is this one, which I took on the soccer field at Schuylkill River Park (the field at the corner of Taney and South), but unfortunately, I took it with my Coolpix. At the time, the Leica and Rollei were still in a drawer at my mother's house.

Piercing blue eyes? I'll give you piercing blue eyes. Here's what can happen when a Siberian Husky falls in love with a Border Collie.
I met this ravishing creature at a schoolyard where we used to walk my late dog Harpo. Sorry, it's digital, but with the B&Ws of blue-eyed dogs, I couldn't resist.
A few people who have seen this have claimed I photoshopped the eyes in. I did not.

Border Collies can have blue eyes, you know -- it's hard to tell going by looks (since Border Collies can look like pretty much anything) but from this photo, the dog could easily pass as purebred.
I like creepy yellow eyes, myself (sorry for the dSLR shot):

Melanie: The owner of "'ol Blue Eyes" told me that one parent had two blue eyes, and the other had one blue eye and one yellow one. (I don't even want to think about the genetic diagram for that combination!). And the parents were indeed a Husky and a Border Collie. This dog is *big*--he's the size of a Golden Retriever, but with recognizable Border Collie-ish markings.
Hope we encounter the owner again, I want to give her a print.

I have two dogs -- both Border Collies.
I used to have a Papillon as well, but he didn't get along with the Border Collie in my photos (which with a seven-fold difference in body size can be fatal), and so now he lives with an agility competitor in Modesto and her other Papillon, yapping and swimming and playing with someone his own size.
My first Border Collie, who is my most frequent model, is a behavior case and the reason I ended up working on this project in the first place!
I do plan on adding another Border Collie in the next few years. Just waiting for the right time, the right breeding, and the right puppy.
Two pics of friends' Springer Spaniel, 'Mad' Molly. A nightmare with the contrast ..... :-)
