Oh, those silly eBayers.

Appropriate brand, though, especially for an eBay'er fond of "Makinon" it up as he goes along...

I remember Leitz had this really long lens which you mounted on a tripod and focused with a ground glass, before attaching your camera body to it.

Mango, since you're there and not here I can't introduce you to a rangefinder my father once worked on. It's a very acurate automatic rangefinder capable of tracking a moving target, it realy improved the system it was used with. A Leopard II tank :)

Rumor has it that the entire production run of Pentax K rangefinders was specially ordered and delivered to the Sultan of Brunei. He uses them as paperweights and doorstops in his many palaces. I wonder if his special edition Leica order met a better fate?

In a perhaps not totally unrelated matter, I am having some real
operational "issues" using a Jupiter 12 lens on my Pentax K1000.

Any suggestions? ;)

There's something fishy about that. I looked all over that ebay listing and couldn't find anything about "I don't know anything about cameras but ... "

You mean the 24K gold Leica R4 and Summicron lens sets? I can't imagine how inconveniently heavy that setup would be. ... Pendulum counterweights?

I would hold off until you confirm if it's compatable with the new digital M.

What a coincidence! I'm using the same type of adapter for mine.

eh, I prefer mine to be more obnoxiously designed than yours as it adds to the charm of the camera:

When you find that Pentax Rangefinder body, let me know, as I've a NIB Pentax SMC 50/1.7 Rangefinder lens yearning for release.

There was a Pentax K RF,and Pentax has gone to grat lengths to suppress any memory of-it was released simultaneously with the Chrysler series of "K" cars,
financed by your tax dollars and trumpeted by Lee Iocaca himself-and they were just as successful!
