While not considered as good (and certaily slower) than the 3.5cm/f2.5 - I do have one of the 3.5cm/f3.5's

Unlike the faster lens, the version I have does not have any filter threads in front of the f/stop ring. The only threads are recessed way down just in front of the glass.

I prefer filters. Anyone know what size diameter filter would "fit" way down there? Is it possible to even put a filter there - although why else would Nikon have put threads down there?

Bob,

Thanks for the info - I think that the guys I use "Filter Connection" carry that size. I'll have to check.

Don't spend too much money on it. I suspect a filter will vignette unless the rim is super, super thin.

Unfortunately Filter Connection (http://www.2filter.com/) does not have a 26.5mm.

I suspect you are correct, Vince. Given how "tight" it is in there hard to see how to avoid vignetting - particularly if you full "seat" the filter down the threads.

This one is only going to be a "backup lens" so maybe I'll just let it play "naked". ;)
