"Stephen, don't jump! The light leak can be fixed!"
This shot was taken from the top of my father in law's yacht's mast (about 35' up!) while I was securing the mast-head light. The things we do for our art! (and in-laws).
(Posted here because it's an SLR shot - Pentax ME-Super w. 50mm f2 lens). Sorry, wasn't brave enough to swing my foot back out of the shot.

I like the way, when you're up there, the mast slowly swings back and forth, back and forth. One minute you've over the deck, the next minute you're hanging out over the water. Back and forth...

Another fun place to be on a yacht is at the end of the bow spit on a moderate* sea and the way the boat rocks up and down.
One moment you're up in the air going "Gosh, look at the pretty sky and seagulls", next you're under water going "blub blub blub fish, blub blub". Then you're in the air again with the seagulls...
Stu :)
* Here in Auckland a moderate sea is what the rest of the world calls rough.

LOL! That's just downright MEAN! :D
What gets me is you hear about people going up to clear lines in 60 foot swells. Beats me how they do it. Bad enough doing this in the pen!
Cheers,
Steve
