Just kidding. This is my second post on the RFF. After reading all the great posts on the ZI....I just ordered a silver one! :) :)
Thanks for pushing me over the edge!

You're most welcome!
Now... how many of these posts will we have to put up with? Just make sure it's only every time you spend a truckload. This means, lens caps and viewfinders don't count. :)

Francisco,
This will be the only post like this that you will have to endure.
What I really want to know is how many of you guys work for Zeiss? I'm positve Mike Elek is a Zeiss agent! :D
All kidding aside, I like the ZI more than the M-7. So does my wallet.

Why does your name ring a bell?

Joerg,
Yes, I like tube amps. I have had a Korneff 45 amp and 6SN7/76 pre for several years driving PHY KM30 SAG speakers in Auris cabinets. I don't even think about gear anymore.

I've obviously found my tribe on this forum - we're not just RF film camera whackos here but some of us are tube cases as well! I roll my own valve amps too, currently using a set of (no longer available) Svetlana 572-10s for the output final. Who says you can't get 35 watts from a SET? I'll have to get some pics posted...

I gave up on photo.net a couple months back. That whole crowd was simply too mean-spirited.
Sort of like the forums on dpreview. After about 10 posts, they all seem to degenerate into name-calling and personal attacks.
Photography is just a hobby. I don't need it to raise my blood pressure.

No tube amps here - vintage SS gear, mostly Luxman, HK, Pioneer, Tandberg circa 1980's. KLH, AR, BA speaks. A good place for this sort of thing is www.audiokarma.org. And welcome.

I wish I had Cantons. I do have a set of bookshelf Wharfedales, though. I like them.

Schweet! I have a pair of AR 58s in vinyl (peeling, sadly) that need to be reconed. Gotta get that done, dang it.

Ring a ding ding, Joe. Nice stuff. I love the speaks from that era. I even have some "The Fisher" model 56 and Klipsch KG2's. I was just as mad for audio as I am for cameras. Got over it - not enough room!

i originally 'met' jorge on his home theatre site. i also visited sound & vision quite a bit along with a few others.
i could spend hours tweaking my set up to extract the 'perfect' sound.
i rarely turn it on any more.
this damn photo thing has taken over.
