Well after a few day stint with a borrowed IIIf red dial from the "museum" at my work I said to myself, "Just get the damned M. You're going to do it at some point anyways." So for my birthday (Mar 13th) I bought myself an M4-2 from The Bay.

It was in Canada and I had to send a money order but it has finally arrived! Now with all of the negative talk I had heard about this camera I half expected a plasic camera to arrive (not literally, but you know...). Not so! This thing will last me a LOOONG time. I don't care if it's made in Canada or Germany, it's a Leica. I also figured that since it is the predacessor to the current M line I couldn't really go wrong, and I was right.

Anyways, just thought I'd spread the joy and say hello to my new fellow M users. Happy birth month me! :)

Jared

P.S. I'm still not going to get rid of my Canonet!!

Hey Jared, I've done much the same myself. Decided I wanted a III to go with my FED (an old FED with the one-off lens mount - argh!) so I started looking around and ended up committing myself to an M4-2 instead!

Now I just have to find the money to pay for it...
