I have a properly operating Leicavit for the IIIg but in rough physical condition. I recently acquired a mint condition shell for it. How difficult/simple is it to remove the mechanicals and transplant them into the new shell?
Is it "plug and play" or best left to someone with a positive mechanical IQ? (Read DAG)
Thanks HT

I would go for DAG. From I have heard, it is very difficult to service or adjust a Leicavit. The chains used in it are made of brass and there are many parts. One common problem that the Leicavot had was that after prolong use, the chains lengthened and you dont get a full rewind on the camera in a single stroke. To replace the chains would also be near impossible. Thats what I have been advised anyways. All the best.
