No problems on this side of the pond.
The RFF site has been slow in the extreme over the past the week.
The front page loads very slowly, skipping through the pages of threads in the "unified view" is tediously slow and often takes minutes, the photos in the gallery don't load or only after minutes, and submitting posts to threads often causes time-outs and necessitates re-submission. This happens on a fast (4 MB) home cable connection but also on a fast broadband corporate connection.
Yep, RFF is having speed issues again.
I knew that the RFF Theme Song should remain as "Baby Elephant Walk" :)
Ya.. I concur.. slow as blackstrap molasses.

Yep, sure is slower than molassas in January.
Any idea what is going on? New server not as advertised or do we have some DOS issues?
I've been wondering these days. Could be something to do with the email thread subscription notification system ?
I say that because that usually makes the disks go quite busy for several seconds on a subscription's system server I have in my office each time the email queues are processed...
Apart from that, I don't really have a clue
There's an IE zero-day attack going on since Friday.

Servers are being hijacked and used to launch said attack. I'm not saying that this is the cause but it's a possibility.

Today, in particular, its a dog. Last few days have not been great though.
Performance was OK ish about six hours ago here in good old Blighty, but like this time yesterday is pants now. I'll wait a while before uploading some images from my vacation.

It is slow but sort of usable now. Is someone investigating the cause of it? Is there a bottleneck on the server? Is it due to too much network traffic?

Man it's like pulling teeth waiting for the next page to load. Half the time I get data base error and email has been sent to the technical staff ( I think they are room full of monkeys pushing buttons )

Do you think FrankG (AKA Sam Boland, AKA Chico) might be involved? ;) :D

Wow - *that* was a bad spell just now!
I still suspect a denial of service attack - it's easy enough to do.
Really sluggish this evening - thought it was just me
