C/Y mount Zeiss lenses came with an instruction sheet that said "Made in Japan [or F.R. Germany] by the Carl Zeiss Stiftung." They also had a QC certificate written in German.

I wonder what documentation comes with the ZI body and ZM lenses?

Yup, Avodius is right, each camera comes with its own signed certificate saying that the camera was tested and passed quality control, etc.

The camera & lens both have "made in Japan stamped on them. There is a sticker on both camera & lens boxes that says the same. Every other piece of paperwork, i.e. warranty, inspection certificate, & instruction booklet say "Carl Zeiss AG, Camera Lens Division, Oberkochen, Germany." And Yes, the lens comes with a booklet as opposed to the typical instruction sheet.
