nice lookin' body, but I'd have to say the chrome rings on the lens sorta spoil it for me..

nice looking camera...i agree about the chrome on the lenses, but as an M mount camera, I'm sure I could get past it.

the chrome rings disappear when the hood is attached.

As I posted in another thread yesterday, I met with Tony yesterday and picked up what I think may have been the first Black ZI body he sold. I'm afraid it really is a yummy camera. It's just awful working 5 minutes from Tony. See my other thread about first impressions.

As an erzatz gastroenterologist, I say that YOU MUST GET ONE OF THESE BABIES to alleviate YOUR G.A.S.

Nice looking camera but not quite sure what they were thinking about when they designed the lens with that gaudy chrome details.

Really? Both of them? Cool. I'd love to see a photo. (Still gaudy design though - regardless if the hood covers them or not :) )
If nothing else I'm sure the body and lens would look really nice with a hood on so I'd be curious to see a photo anyway.

I agree with you. The actual design of the bayonet is nice as it allows you to have the lens hood on and still easily put on and take off the Zeiss lens cap. As for it being chrome, it matches what Zeiss is doing with its F-mount SLR lenses and what CV did with its 40 Nokton.

Otherwise, it's reminiscent of the first generation of Canon's FD lenses (called "white-face" lenses I think) way-back-when. That look didn't last too long because, as per Ivor Matanle's book on collecting SLR's (if memory serves), photographers thought the reflections from chrome going into the lens might cause problems.

Really? Both of them?

mock me, go 'head...of course it doesn't hide the back ring...

The chrome ring reminds me of the first 50/1.4 FD on the Canon F1. It was re-issued with a black ring within a year. Now the chrome one is a "collector's item".

Nice looking camera. The more squared off body of the Contax adapted to a Leica M.

the chrome ring reminds me of rollei tlrs. the other chrome ring, i'm guessing, is the mount, which is chrome and visible in all m-mount cameras.

I think the chrome rings on the lens are sexy, adds a little detail to it
