I couldnt find an answer anywhere, but I am sure this question has been asked before.I have a Sonnar 50mm 1.5 for my Leica. It has a rather stiff focusing ring so I want to get it serviced.Any reputable people you know.I am in England, but I don't mind sending it abroad. Thanks

I've used Sherry for Contax mount 50mm f1.5.

Not surprisingly, Don Goldberg (aka DAG, http://www.dagcamera.com/) knows how to work on a LTM 5cm/1.5 Sonnar. He did a fine job CLA'ing mine.

In the Uk, try Malcolm Taylor. Very helpful bloke with all the skills and gear to sort your lens out. You can speak to him before sending your kit off. 01568 770542.

Malcolm advised me recently on the pros and cons of a Summar I was interested in - helpful - particularly the bit about some front elements having been re-ground at some stage in the past, and looking ok to the eye, but actually losing some of their convexity  .
I've never had any work done by Malcom, but have bought bits and pieces from him in the past, and always been happy with the service.
