Dear Forum,

This post is just to happily announce everyone about my succesful acquisition of this item (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3849668821&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT).
I have to admit, i was $5,18 far from being sniped again, but this time the sniper was too early :D

Hereby I thank everyone who helped me through this difficult period, with bidding tips&tricks, moral support after the losses and by encouraging me to live with the CAS (Contax Acquisition Syndrome).

Now where do I get a freakin' take-up spool???

As for the spool, try to find one from a Kiev? Or there are instructions on the web for making one, though my google-fu fails me tonight.

I will double check: But I believe the spool from the Nikon Reloadable 35mm Film Cassette's will work in the Contax IIIa.

GREAT PRICE! Congratulations. The Sonnar F1.5 is one of my favorite 50's, and the camera is a joy to fire.

Okay! I just did this with a test roll of film to make sure it worked on my IIIa.

The take-up spool from the NIKON AM-1 film cassette works perfectly with the Contax IIIa. The spool is slotted, has a film-catch, and engages the Contax wind mechanism. These are well made cassettes that go cheap, ~$5.

I'm looking forward to the Contax Experience. I hope i'll like using it - otherwise it has to go. So, if you see it offered here in a month or two, don't ask me how did i like it :D

Great "coincidence", Brian. I'll see if i can find a nikon cassette over here.
Taffer - i googled and found the same link yesterday, it seems it's a cheap workable solution.

The shipping cost is a bit steep - $40 and some cents. ("USPS insured Global Express" - i hope at least it's fast!!! The Yashica GSN came from Texas at a cost of 16$ and arrived in a week. The contax should be quite heavier, though.)

P. S. I've seen more Zeiss film cassettes for sale on eBay than I have spare spools, and the film cassettes contain spools...just another option. Also, I may have some spare spools -- I'll check.

Rover: two pairs of shoes. :D It's a PITA to buy shoes, i have to check a lot to find some good ones and there are those too nice salespersons bugging me in every third minute if they can help me. Brrrr. So i buy more at once and get rid of the problem for a longer time.

Doug2: Can't return them anymore. I left the boxes in the shop. :D
[Maybe my subconscient knew about this danger and that's why it pushed me to do so. The clerk asked me, am I sure i want no box because i can't return them in that case. Yes i am, i said, and stuffed them very fast in my backpack.]
