I 've just had back a roll of Ilford HP5+ photographed with a Konica Auto S2 I bought for £20 (that's $35). I was stunned with the photos, the Hexanon 45 f1.8 is a little gem, it is. I developed the film in Ilford's mail photolab, that may have played a role too. I do not have a scanner and Ilford's lab does not provide a scanning service so, sorry, no photos to post. But I had similarly smashing results with a colour film I developed earlier. The photos do look different from ones taken with my M2 but are in no way inferior. They are supersharp and very contrasty. And I think I like them better than photos taken with my Canonet QL19.

I picked up one for a little less than that ( a John Higgins scratched his name onto the back of the rangefinder with what may have been a nail.) It is a rather bulky camera but as you said it has a great lens and the rangefinder window is large and contrasty, easy to focus. All and all a nice camera.

I sold off most of my fixed-lens RF's.

I'm keeping the Konica S2: sharpest lens; Yashica Lynx 14e, fastest lens, and Minolta Hi-Matic 9, bought when I was 11.
