I'm considering shooting an upcoming wedding on my schedule with just my G2 kit with lenses. I normally shoot photojournal style with lots of candids with a Nikon F100. It's another paid wedding for me and they want all black and white.

Am I nuts for considering doing it with the G2? Indoors with no flash but high speed film may work...but I'm a little leary. I know the lenses would be sharp and produce fantastic images..but I just wanted some encouragement or advice before doing it.

I'd bring a Nikon and one or two lenses as a backup, just in case. After all, this is a paying gig.

If you're getting paid, wouldn't it be best to shoot with what has proven to be successful for you? I'd stick with the F100.

I'd try a dry run with the G2 under similar conditions when I'm not getting paid to see how it works out before I used it on a contracted job. You'd hate to screw up on what is someone's big day.

I think I will shoot primarily with my Nikon, but switch in-between under all the conditions and see how the Contax does...

I've went into the church during the week to see the lighting condition and meter it...i think the contax will do well.

I have the G1, and I love it, but I hate it for candids. There's the focus lag which makes me miss that split second I want most of the time. I would use it general weddings shots definantly, but not the candids. Just my .02.
