Just curious what people think of this camera...been wanting to try it out. B and H has a good price on it.
There is a thread on photo.net Leica forum right now regarding this. Someone had purchased a CM Zoom and was very disappointed in its build quality and viewfinder. Some others agreed and some said their CMs were fine. Seemed to be a mixed bag.

The Minilux's tiny viewfinder was a big put off.
Now, made in Germany, not Panasonic (my rice cooker is a Panasonic) the CM is supposed to have improved, no one knows, you just have to head for Leica store to take a look.
If the lens 40 2.4 ,as Leica's favorite prase, "computed" by Leica, and WAS made by Leica, then for $995,mabe worth the money. But of course,a Sonnar 40 2.8 made in Germany performs the same with that made in Peter's home town,Singapore.

There are several discussion threads about the CM on photo.net. go here:

I prefer my Contax T3 over the CM, mainly due to its smaller size, better flash default controls and custom functions. YMMV.

So,no pre-focus, tiny finder, boxy body...what's new?
Leica does not have the experience and tech for point and shoot, 40mm is almost... useless(or as one poster said NOT WIDE ENOUGH! or, keep using your Canonet GIII ). But, it's a LEICA! the red logo alone worth $650...

If anyone has one of these they want to sell, I'm interested.
