We are never content with a single name for a cat:
Odo the Dozer, Dozer the Dim, Plumpkins (foreground)
Lydia the Mouser, Princess of Darkness -- The Fluffy Horror, Flechette (she's spikey)

Here is George, she is a girl and how she ended up with boy's name is a funny story. We got her from a lady who advertised kittens on the cork board at the local gorcery store. When we picked her up, the lady convinced us it was a boy. I used to have a dog, a Dalmatian whose name was George and who died some years ago. So in his honour, we named the cat George.

Well, months went by, but no male organs grew on George. So we consulted an expert (neighbour) and it turned out George is a girl. So we call her Georgy most of the time. Or just George.

My boys learned to use the box to 's' and 'p'. My mother-in-law from hell has a dog that we banned from our house because it was never trained properly. As animals go, I find dogs connect better with people than cats, they just need more attention.

This is Fred, about to take his daily five-hour nap. He's tired from single-handedly destroying two couches and three rugs. Once, he nearly wrecked our living room by bringing a live bird into the house. We love him anyway.

Black cats are difficult to photograph. ;)

I catch you in my house and I KILL you :D

the first cat was on the screen and my wife asked one of my cats [Amelie] what she was doing on the computer... is yours a boy or girl cat?

My son brought her home from a friends condo and named her Amelie after the movie, then when one of his co-workers [her hubby said if the cats are still there when I come home, I WON'T be coming home] was giving away kittens he took a male which he named Nino [Amelie's boyfriend in the movie]

And that is how I ended up with cats as I prepared to get a greyhound rescue :bang:

Here's Japie.

Someone probably shoved him out of the car when he was about 5 or 6wks old. So very cruel  He was starving when he finally came into our garden meowing for food and shelter. I took this picture when he had just settled in with us. It's not an award winning photo, rather a record of events. Japie is a quite a bit bigger now, but has rewarded us with shiploads of affection..

Shot with a Bessa-T and 50/2 Hexanon on the worst Kodak film imaginable (Ultra 400)..

The other summer I had a knock at my door late one night. Some woman had hit something (at windshield height - I saw the markings) and she was pretty shook up. I think she probably hit a large low flying bird - like maybe an owl. While we're trying to find what she hit I see 6 little eyes marching down the road. They gravitate toward us, and I stuck them in the bed of the truck when she went to leave so she wouldn't run them over. Took them back out when she left. When they were still hanging around the following evening I decided to feed them and try to find some homes for them. Someone had obviously dumped these kittens. Found homes for two over the next week, still had one little guy left when one night my cat started getting upset. (she never did like them) I go out to look, and this cat is in the yard hanging back in the edges of the floodlight shadows. Kitten runs up to her, she sniffs it over, and off they go into the night never to be seen again. Cars are not the only method by which kittens get distributed across the neighborhood - in my case it turns out that momma farmed em out

ZorkiKat, where is Lungsod? After I came back from Nam I was stationed at Subic Bay as a Shore Patrol for six weeks. We worked four days on and two off so I travelled and visited different cities but don't remember Lungsod. I also spent some time at Ilo Ilo building a playground for the kids.

"Lungsod" means city- lungsod Quezon is "Quezon City" which is in the area of the Manila region. :D Quezon city had been for some time the capital of the Philippines, but the title has been restored to Manila.

I thought that word was familiar and I knew Quezon was also. I flew into Clarks AFB in Manilla and took a bus down to Olongopo. That was the first time I was there on my way to Nam. I'll have to dig up my old photos from there.

Would love to see them! Subic is still beautful. It's now commercialised- resorts, hotels, restaurants and even malls are now where the old US Army facilities were. Not much happening with Clark now, with what happened after Pinatubo's eruption in 1991. Its best known now for the alternative international airport there.
