Since someone wanted to see the G up close in personal, I figured I'd take some photos of them all at lunch time. I don't yet own an original Electro-35 (sans G.)

Have a looksee everyone: http://photobucket.com/albums/f25/yashica/

Sweet! Thanks. I'm really jonesing for the G as I like the look. I was thinking I'd like to trade my GSN for the G but I think I'll ultimately want both. Are there any lens coating differences between them?

I believe they all have the same lens. The later 'G' models have the green word 'COLOR' on the lens like my other two cameras. However, I think they were all multicoated in the same manner. I'm no historian though :) Just a happy user.

Everything that I have read says that the lenses were all the same. They just added the word "Color" to emphasize that the lens was fully color corrected.

Also, something to keep in mind...the early G models had the type of back and release mechanism as shown in Luke's pictures, while the later G's had the same style as the GS and GSN models. So, if you want the early style bottom, just buying a G won't guarantee that you will get it. Check the pictures carefully and ask if you can't tell for sure!
